We recently closed an investment from Propeller, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage SaaS, enterprise, and cloud infrastructure startups. Although this is the single largest investment the company has received to date, we and Propeller both felt it would be meaningless to post about the dollar figures, and have agreed to focus on the priceless aspect of the deal, which is the story behind it.

Our relationship with Propeller dates back to 2019, prior to BithTV’s inception. At the time, we were DigitaSport- a SaaS company that provided sports leagues with white-labeled mobile applications to improve their fan experience, both inside and outside of venues. We met with them back then, and simply put, they did not believe in what we were building.

However, when the time came for us to pivot post-COVID in 2020, Propeller were the first to know. At the time, BithTV needed advice, not money. From the get-go, Propeller understood our mission of empowering the next generation of Arab Gamers very well. Although we were not a portfolio company, Propeller’s team members have certainly treated us like one (long before any investment talks had even been commenced).

This started off with Tambi Jalouqa, Propeller’s Chief Executive Officer, meeting with us in his own personal time, which then proceeded to Leen Ashqar, Propeller’s Senior Investment Associate, and other Propeller team members meeting with us and investing their time and energy to understand gamers, content creation, and everything in between just so they can add value.

Looking back now, we can happily say that what had started off as a genuine seeking of advice, has eventually turned into a treasured partnership. At BithTV, we view this investment as a strategic one as we continue our journey of simplifying content creation for Arab gamers by providing them with easy-to-use video editing and distribution tools to grow their presence across all social media platforms.
