Please walk me through how someone would use this service.

We have all been students once, as we remember the struggles in getting quick cash while endless searching for professional jobs.
Students register to bitJob marketplace and can choose to deliver their service to one of the SMB/SME online job demands, or just publish their own skills set as quality providers. The students can choose to cash their reward in FIAT money (PayPal) or in Cryptocurrency (STU student token). Students will get their fair chances to enrich their resume and sharpen their skills set through crypto hands-on experience, no fees attached (students will never pay any fee on bitJob).
As Employers, we found it difficult to hire quality temporary workers that fit to our budget and pretty much failed in recruiting students. SMB/SME can find their next wave of talent by registering to the marketplace and publishing their job requirements or just turn and recruit student directly, no intermediation needed.
As businessmen, we understand that we can get new users and steady flow of professional online jobs registered to the marketplace every day, by creating new revenue models from an unaddressed segment for the academic institutions and HR agencies, securing their services as bitJob Affiliates (Will significantly reduce bitJob’s marketing expenses) by compensating them with a referral fee. This business model creates a new global student-ecosystem, thanks to blockchain technology.

Is the problem lack of trained professionals, or general awareness of opportunities?

We believe it is a bit of both. We live in the internet age, where new opportunities to evolve are just around the corner, you just need to be aware of it. There is a well-known cliche phrase: in order to create your own luck, you need to be ready to gasp the next opportunity that comes your way.
Let’s connect students and employers, for the benefit of all sides involved, raising awareness and generating new chances, everyday!

What are the skills most in-demand?

Social Media Manager: An essential marketing tool for startups and major international players alike, social media managers are in high demand all over the world. Why not take that talent for Snapchat and Twitter and make some extra cash by organizing and managing the social media for a company?
SEO Optimization: If something happens on the internet, but you can’t find it on Google, did it ever really happen in the first place? This generation of students are digital natives, so why not use that innate technological savvy to help clients get the most out of their web presence?
App Tester: If you’re gonna spend all of your time on your phone anyway, you might as well make some money while doing it! Apps of all kind — desktop, mobile, dApp — require a team of individuals who will use the app, looking for bugs and mistakes, to make sure the project is on track. And it’s a great way to get hands-on experience with the tech word.
Blockchain Developer: If you’re a student reading this, you probably already know that the next generation revolution in technology is the blockchain. Thanks to our partnerships with prestigious universities around the world and major blockchain development institutions, the bitJob marketplace will be an industry leader for opportunities in a decentralized world.
With the world globalizing, democratizing, and changing at a rapid pace, we’re sure that many of the jobs that will populate the bitJob marketplace in the future don’t even exist yet! But when they do, bitJob will be first in providing equal opportunities to students all over the world to gain experience and earn income from them.

What are you doing to verify the candidates and the companies?

To ensure that services are provided in accordance with bitJob standards and users receiving those services are satisfied and safe, the system will rely on a reputation mechanism. Each service provider and service seeker will have the opportunity to provide feedback about the other party. Results of this feedback will be displayed on the member profile of each service provider and service seeker, and it will be publicly visible to members. Blockchain tech helps in the process of registration, verification, authenticity, audit, etc. and provides full confidence that the data is legit. Last but not least, the bitJob Affiliate program will secure true and genuine users, throughout the win-win business model.

How long will there be a candidate shortage?

The obvious lack of available talents and candidate shortage around the world can only be changed by harnessing the blockchain tech upsides, creating a safe environment for all sides to participate. As for candidates (employers and students), we have been working since the establishment of this project to create precious collaborations that will bring us candidates on both sides. We will unite students and professional employers under the same networking roof, for the sake of everyone. Another world in which we create partnerships in order to receive traffic and suitable candidates, is the Crypto world, which thirsts for high quality and reliable employees for a wide variety of positions.

American programmers have been somewhat disintermediated by foreign competition. Is there a way they can transition their skills to these new industries?

There is indeed such a problem, but Blockchain tech resolves this issue, by removing all barriers and boundaries — Geographical distances, cultures, languages, local currencies, time differences, etc. Actually, in the crypto world, all of these don’t really exist. The STU student token will create great benefits to student exchange programs for example, traveling to other countries and international institutions, without the need the work with local currencies whatsoever. bitJob upgrade the game of professional online job marketplaces, taking it straight to the next generation of labor market. If you have the skills and the drive, join the movement — your origin doesn’t matter!

In your opinion, what are the top schools for those wishing to work in the blockchain/cryptocurrency industries?

We think that every institution will open blockchain programs sooner or later. There are already a number of leading institutions in the world that have developed such programs: In 2014 New York University started offering blockchain classes, Duke University with its pioneer cryptocurrency course “Innovation, Disruption and Cryptoventures”, The University of California-Berkeley offers an open-source undergraduate cryptocurrency course for their students, including the famous Blockchain at Berkeley (bitJob’s Affiliate!) department and the University of Nicosia, as the largest independent university of Cyprus offers the first Master of Science degree in Digital Currency available online.

bitJob also collaborated with top Institutions, including Michigan Fintech (at University of Michigan, USA), McGill Cryptocurrency Club at Mcgill University (Montreal, Canada), the University of Florida Bitcoin Club (Gainesville, Florida) and many others. bitJob also joined the Blockchain program of the Dutch Government, expanding its networking to European academic institutes, as the the student market segment is vast, with more than 300 million students in India alone.
