“You should release product as soon as there is at least one person in the world who is glad that you launched” — Paul Graham, YC School 2018

Yo! zigzag.io is now on mainnet, and you can try it out 🎊! We’re on beta and therefore have added a limited maximum exchange amount close to $100.

How to exchange?

First of all you’ll need to install a Lightning Network wallet if you haven’t already (we have a list here). Then you need to create a channel with us, you could find our Lightning Network node address here.

What if my exchange fails?

We’re on beta and things don’t usually go smoothly, but no worries, if something goes wrong we have a refund system, and in case of some internal failure we’ll of course return your money.

We have two refund options (1) you could specify blockchain address or (2) lightning network invoice, in case of second refund will be much faster, and free of blockchain fees.

If you still have questions you can contact us in live chat in the right bottom corner on zigzag.io webpage, also we have “Contact us” section at the bottom of article.

What is next?

We highly appreciate the work of Lightning Network community. But there are still people out there for whom Lightning Network is hard to use, we think to introduce more people to Lightning there has to be a way to try it free of any technical expertise.

For that reason we have decided to make a custodial wallet, like htlc.me, but in mainnet, i.e. wallet where no technical skills are required from end user, no node installation and synchronisation, no channel creation, where you can deposit wallet with Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dash, Ethereum, and Litecoin.

We understand the whole “not your private keys, not your money” thing, but we think we should also open doors for non-technical people as well. Hopefully this is a baby step towards them being keen to learn more about such things, and introduces people more into the space.

One of the ways to simplify the entrance for people who don’t have any crypto is by giving free bonuses! So they could try Lightning Network straight away after registration, we hope we can figure out the LTV before we run out of money 😃

Also we’re thinking of creating categorised application list for newborn Lightning Network users, so they could find where they can spend Bitcoin faster.

If you are the application developer or merchant who has integrated Lightning, and want to get into this list, please fill the form.
