Vortex incoming!
Chilly palms and sticky fingers
Under the quilt, wriggle for warmth.
Kitty’s new litter and those on watch
Brave the cold not oft felt —
Waiting, until the sun shines,
Making way for sweaty brows and necks.
Wheels go round and round
Through paths explored and those not;
Sounds fill the empty air with signs of life.
Cafés and shops empty and fill,
Class rooms go from half-empty to half-full.
Students vary from cheery to dull,
Day gets from active to a lull.
Sine and cosine go up and down,
Faces may sometimes smile or frown.
Certainty and life don’t go hand in hand,
With many things we don’t understand.
Perks of living are few in number,
One is living, and the other, to remember.
Remember to live, come next weekend,
