(SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 4) BitTorrent, the leading peer-to-peer streaming protocol, today began internally testing BLive, the world’s first live streaming platform using blockchain technology.

BLive is based on the TRON and BitTorrent protocols, and is a multifunctional audio/video tool that integrates live streaming, instant messaging and other features. With more than 100 million monthly active BitTorrent users, BLive can tap consumers who want to seamlessly combine entertainment with cross-border payments to content creators.

In internal testing, BLive users will experience audio/video live streaming services, including account system, user relationship, payment systems, gifting systems, and top user charts.

BLive redefines the rules of how each and every participant can operate and cooperate with each other in an organic virtual ecosystem. By combining a constant audio/video output with a token economy, BLive delivers great value to the live-streaming industry by allowing content creators to take a larger share of profits than other live-streaming platforms. Content creators, consumers and investors will be close-knit in BLive’s tokenized system in a brand new way.

On Sept. 20, BitTorrent plans to release a public beta of BLive for gain additional user feedback. Details on how to download will be announced soon.
