BitTorrent Speed 1.1.0 Release

BitTorrent Speed is a new product integrated into the uTorrent Classic Client, providing users with an option to earn cryptocurrency (BTT) for seeding and enjoy faster file downloads. The concept of BitTorrent Speed was first introduced in late 2018 as the first product to merge two decentralized networks together — the world’s largest peer to peer network, the BitTorrent protocol, with blockchain technology.

Over the last few months, we, the team at BitTorrent and TRON, have made monumental strides in the product development progress of BitTorrent Speed. In early July 2019, we officially launched a beta version of BitTorrent Speed to real users. You can download and try the product out here. Months prior to that, the team conducted internal testing groups where we invited real users to take part in our Early Access Group. The team continued to receive feedback from users and worked hard to implement changes to the product.

In under 2 months time from the early beta launch of the product, we are excited to announce that we are releasing a new version of BitTorrent Speed with some updated fixes and improvements!

Fixes

• Wallet installation failure crashes
• Attempts to withdraw without a registered account-related crashes
• Withdraw and Deposit fields are cleared every time a user leaves the Wallet dashboard

• Updated login and password creation flow
• Updated Balance widget in Speed Dashboard
• Updated the Balance behavior in the Wallet screen
• Onboarding screens show up after BitTorrent Speed relaunch if a user closes the screens without skipping or finishing previously

• Restored GPPC health check
• Fixed crashes with upgrading non-passphrase based databases
• Cleared “Withdraw BTT” and “Deposit BTT” fields when entering an amount with comma
