With the launch of AtBot Premium, you can create enterprise bots running on the AtBot platform which can be used outside of Microsoft Teams.

AtBot is designed for Office 365 and one of the biggest components of Office 365 is SharePoint Online. Custom bots using AtBot Premium can be accessible within SharePoint Online, providing a very powerful way to bring artificial intelligence and conversational UI to your users.

You shouldn’t have to build this from scratch, so we’re providing some starting SharePoint Framework (SPFx) guidance you can use to deploy your bot to SharePoint Online modern sites. You’ll create a SPFx Extension, which, once deployed to a site, adds the bot to all modern pages in that site.

These steps can be used for any Azure-built chatbot, so if you have other non-AtBot bots you want to include, this should still work.

Update: Since this post was originally published, various changes have occurred in SPO to justify pointing to a newer, better resource. At this point we’d like to point you to a step-by-step how-to from our friends and partners at Withum for the steps to complete this task.
