How AtBot is a Natural Extension of the Power Platform

As James Phillips, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Business Applications Group said in a recently published blog, “There has been a lot of energy surrounding Microsoft’s Power Platform lately.”

We are excited by the potential of AtBot to further extend the power of this great platform. While “Power BI unlocks insights and intelligence, Power Apps converts that intelligence into action through transformative applications built in record time, and Power Automate makes business process orchestration an easy point and click exercise,” AtBot takes it out a big step further by helping to build rich chatbots using Microsoft AI and Power Automate, letting any person have a natural conversation to get their task done simply and completely. And like the Power Platform, no code is required.

Microsoft presents their “Triple A Loop” of the Power Platform: “analyze, act and automate”. Let AtBot add a second triple A loop: ask, answer, and accomplish. Ask for the information you need when you need it. Get the direct answer to the question, not multiple lines of text to read through. Then, accomplish any resulting task with another chat or click of your mouse. The bot’s goal is to truly help individuals get their job done faster and simpler. AtBot lets you create that bot also faster and simpler.

Phillips also adds that, “Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is garnering a lot of interest and attention in the market. By automating simple tasks, RPA solutions promise to lower costs while reducing errors.” While Power Automate, a great example of RPA, enables simple non-technical automation, AtBot goes beyond this to provide a no-code conversational UI, also allowing the business user — a non-developer — to build an intelligent chat experience.

While so many solutions are possible, some great examples we are seeing are:

· Financial and insurance agents can have a chat with a bot to quickly update client personal information in Microsoft Dynamics from their phone over SMS/text;

· Customer service bots built with no code not only tie into their company’s frequently asked questions but also enable customers from a single chat experience to get directions to the nearest brick and mortar location, open a trouble ticket to further investigate, have someone contact them directly and, yes, switch you over to a real human being to talk to if necessary;

· Contact center agents are empowered by Microsoft Customer Care center and AtBot to provide amazing customer experiences with a contextually aware intelligent agent assistant;

· Microsoft Teams provides a rich collaborative platform and why leave that when you need to set up a meeting, file an expense report along with a picture of the receipt, or get 24-hour help from your HR or IT departments? Stay within Teams and collaborate with your AtBot to get that and more done.

Together, Microsoft and AtBot give winning performance with the power ‘double’ triple A loop — “analyze, act and automate” coupled with “ask, answer and accomplish” — truly helping all workers, the bot builder and the users, get their jobs done with ease.
