The bubble has burst! The Lotus has failed to bloom!! All said and done, its Naveen and only Naveen who deserves all accolades. Dharmendra Pradhan and Co bit the dust at Bijepur and would continue to do so in the upcoming urban elections in 2018 and general polls in 2019. Not because of lack of effort, but for reasons beyond their control. They are simply no match for Naveen. You cannot blame them for not having tried hard enough. They created a big hype, made a BJD renegade the BJP candidate, spent crores of rupees, even threw eggs and chappals at the CM and did all that they are capable of considering their narrow political vision based on intolerance and violence.

Certainly, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah cannot blame poor Dharmendra for losing the byelection. Yes, the huge margin might disturb Shah, who has shamelessly set a target of 120 seats in the Odisha Assembly. You cannot blame Shah either! He is only a manipulator. He has neither a follower in Odisha nor does he understand the state. He only trusts Dharmendra, who in his desperation to take over the reins of power in Odisha has sold the BJP bosses a daydream. The fact of the matter is Dharmendra has never been a winner!! He has not won a single direct election on his own strength or on the strength of his party. In 2000, he became an MLA thanks to BJD-BJP alliance. Four years later, he became an MP again banking on BJD support. The coalition ended in 2009, and so also Dharmendra’s electoral triumphs. Neither Dharmendra nor the BJP have the grassroots support, image and commitment to sway the voters in their favour. The constituents of Bijepur saw through their shenanigans. And so also will people of rest of Odisha.
