What is this MAP?

We just rolled out a new feature today, Audience Map.

What is it?

It’s a map that shows where your audience is from!

Why did we build it?

The magic of Blab is being able to push a button, and instantly connect with people all around the world.

You might be streaming from your bedroom in New Jersey, and have people watching on the other side of the world in South Africa or Australia.

TV & Radio can’t match the power of the internet.

Your words can be heard by anyone, anywhere in the world.

That’s powerful.

How does it work?

When you login with Twitter, we grab the “Hometown” that you have listed on your profile.

Is this tracking my location??

It’s not tracking your actual location.

We just put a dot on the map for the city that you have set on your twitter profile.

Mine’s not working!

Yup. We hacked this feature together pretty quickly.

If you haven’t noticed, the Blab way is not to ‘wait until it’s perfect’ before releasing it to users. (especially while we’re in beta).

We like to put it into the wild and then make improvements regularly. If you have an idea for how we could tweak the map, tweet @blab . We’re on the lookout for your feedback right now!

I want to change my hometown!

Today, the easiest way to do this is to change your hometown on twitter. Then log out/log back into Blab.

In the future, you will be able to edit your hometown directly from your Blab profile.
