Some of us wake up (or go to sleep with) thoughts that can pull us down. Dr. Daniel Amen calls these ANTs (Automatic Negative Thoughts.)
Ants can be caused by previous experiences or core beliefs, things we believe about ourselves, the world around us, and the future and they can be very convincing.

I tend to wake up with these types of thoughts rolling through my brain, the interesting thing is though, I believe this is how I have always been, but just in the last decade or so, I have been able to realize these thoughts are not reality and am gaining some tools on how to stop them in their anty little tracks.

Sometimes we don’t even hear or acknowledge the voices in our heads (that sounds creepy but we all have them) until we stop to listen and say hey wait a minute you are stealing my joy. You are out to get me and I am done listening to these little thieves of peace.

Deep thoughts like core beliefs for me are:

I’m not good enough

I will never succeed

I came from Nothing

I don’t even have a family that loves me

My house is too small

Everyone thinks my house is too small
