Last night, I attended a meeting of my sober friends, the best friends of all because they’ve all been through hell and back at least once.

As a storyteller, there is no better place in the world to hear stories of human transformation than in the rooms of people striving to live a sober life one day at a time.

Speaker Meetings Rock

The speaker was terrific last night. Let’s call him Joe because, based on the traditions of 12-step programs worldwide, most of us are anonymous. (I choose not to be anonymous because many struggle with life on Earth.)

I’m here to help anyone willing to read or listen that there’s a definite purpose to life here, especially regarding waking up and aligning with a power greater than our shallow egoic selves.

I landed in the rooms in 2005, and learning to live a sober life has made a world of difference. I chair a meeting, have a sponsor, and work with others at every chance I get.
