THE MOODY MAVEN

I’m Down With Ten to Go

The Greeks were never so straightforward

From Thermopylae to Marathon, at least they knew to look. Since Xerxes and Darius couldn’t be allowed to know, the Greeks used a skytale. How else were they to see it?

It took the Greeks to show us how and lay the trail from then to now.

If poetry was straightforward, it wouldn't be poetry. If words couldn't be tricksy, there couldn’t be poetry. If people didn’t give a little extra to read it, there shouldn’t be poetry.

Now you’re ready…

When you get to the other end, I hope you’ll know what to append.

Miss Manners

How can we expect to know,
Each print left on drifting snow?
Let me explain the trick to you,
Lest secrets flee before I do.
Often are the details lost,
Though we may never know that cost.
Hectic winds of life ensue,
Every detail blown from view.
Remember, where you made your start,
Envisions where you shall depart.

When you get me, I get you!
