Those who still doubt the neo-Marxist shift that Canadian society has made since the liberals came to power in 2015 are the latest victims of a flagrant denial of reality. A very recent case shows us the progression of the phenomenon. The College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) has ordered one of its renowned members, Jordan B. Peterson, to undergo mandatory social media communication retraining to “modify his objectionable behavior.”

His crime: tweeting messages that do not fit the CPO’s narrative. “I have been accused of harming people (although none of the complainants involved in the current action were clients of mine, past or present, or were even acquainted with any of my clients)”, Peterson posted on Twitter.

According to the Canadian psychologist, “About a dozen people from all over the world submitted complaints about my public statements on Twitter and [Joe Rogan’s podcast] over a four-year period (out of the 15 million who follow me on social media) claiming that I had ‘harmed’ people (not them) with my views.”

In its letter to Peterson, the CPO demands that he undertake a coaching program to “review, reflect on, and ameliorate his professionalism in public statements.” In other words, he must learn to not deviate from the script written by the technocrats of the institution. The psychologist confirmed that he will not comply with the requirements. In doing so, he faces disciplinary action that could lead to the suspension of his license.

The complaints against him relate mainly to his criticism of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and a retweet of a comment made by conservative leader Pierre Poilievre about the severity of the COVID lockdowns.

“I did all that ‘disrespectfully’, by the way, in a ‘horrific’ manner that spread ‘misinformation’; that was ‘threatening’ and ‘harassing’; that was ‘embarrassing’ to the profession”, Peterson wrote in The National Post on Wednesday. “I am also (these are separate offenses) sexist, transphobic, incapable of the requisite body positivity in relationship to morbid obesity and, unforgivably of all, a climate change denialist.”

Jordan B. Peterson is a clinical psychologist and professor emeritus at the University of Toronto. From 1993 to 1998, he served as an assistant and associate professor of psychology at Harvard. He spent fifteen years writing Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief. Dr. Peterson also penned the popular global bestsellers Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life, and 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos, the latter having sold more than five million copies.

The psychologist has always taken pride in showing his hostility towards the woke movement. A former student of Wilfrid Laurier University, Lindsay Shepherd, sparked controversy in 2017 when she played in her class a clip of a Peterson appearance on a TV program in which the psychologist argued against the use of non-gendered pronouns.
