For Far-Left Academics, the Erasure of Men and Women is Inclusive

From now on, we are all “sperm-producing” or “egg-producing” people

By accepting the premise that sex is not binary, we must agree with the assertion that any analysis, idea or opinion must be freed from the male-female duality. But by doing so, we open the door to the reevaluation and re-engineering of the language in order to bring it into line with the said premise.

This is what the researchers behind The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Language Project are doing. These researchers cover themselves with their thick ideological veil to discard an essential element of the Western civilization: the common language. By leaving out some aspects of that common language, they throw away the main feature of societies: men and women.

The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Language Project is thus asking us to avoid the words “male” and “female” as they reinforce the idea that sex is binary and emphasize “hetero-normative views.” So they must be replaced with terms like “sperm-producing” or “egg-producing” people. Of course, “man” and “woman” must be banned for the same reasons.

You can see plenty of examples of this attempt to re-engineer our language on The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Language Project’s website, where a “repository for harmful terminology” is displayed. Among the terms deemed “harmful” included in the repository, in addition to those mentioned above, are:

- mother/father, which must be substituted for “parent/egg-donor/sperm-donor”;

- alien/non-native, which must be substituted for “non-endemic species/newly arrived species/non-Indigenous species/introduced species”;

- race, which must be substituted for “population/subspecies/ecotype”;

- virgin, which must be substituted for “unmated”.

If you believe that the woke movement will stop there, think again. In California, a company called Phenomenex has produced a guide to change the way people speak. The guide, called Evolving from Violent Language, is intended “for those who would like to replace mostly violently framed idioms with more positive and inclusive language.”

Thus, according to Phenomenex’s reference booklet, instead of saying “I’ll bite the bullet”, we should say “I won’t avoid it any longer.” It is also better to say “we have to choose our opportunities” instead of “we have to pick our battles”, or “let’s just move forward” instead of “let’s just roll with the punches”, or “I was impressed by her presentation”, instead of “I was blown away by her presentation.”

The re-engineering of the language is not a new phenomenon, but since the movement is becoming more radical, then it is obvious that its actions are also becoming more radical. And with far-left governments in power, actions are too often turned into law.
