How to invest in Blackbeard Capital

An easy to follow tutorial for new investors.

We at Blackbeard recently opened a public fund so that any crypto native token holder has the ability to invest in our fund. We decided to do this via the Melon Protocol, a system of smart contracts that mimic traditional fund structuring and allow asset managers to capture alpha generating returns in some of the top projects built on top of Ethereum. Melon allows us to accept investments from any user already holding a number of different cryptocurrencies.

Currently the only supported tokens are:

ANT, BAT, DAI, KNC, LINK, MANA, MKR, MLN, REN, REP, RLC, SAI, USDC, WBTC, WETH, & ZRX

Below is a step-by-step process new customers can use to onboard with us as simply as possible,

1. First Install Metamask, on your google browser
   *Frame, WalletConnect & Fortmatic are also compatible with Melon*

2. Transfer some supported tokens to your ethereum address, guide.

Make sure you have enough ETH for transaction costs ~$7.

3. Open Blackbeard Capital, and login using Metamask.

4. Because ETH does not follow the ERC-20 token standard you will need Wrapped ETH (WETH) to invest. Select the “My Wallet” button and click on the “Wrap Ether” tab, then select how much ETH you would like to wrap and accept the transaction.

Transaction costs depend on ETH Gas Price.

5. Head back to Blackbeard Capital’s homepage, and select the “Invest” button.

6. Enter the number of shares or the amount of tokens desired for deposit.
*We suggest using 1% or 2% premium when investing through Melon*

7. Once the investment goes through (price feeds update once per day), you will own shares of our fund which are redeemable at any point.
