As you may have noticed, lately, crypto has been the talk of the town. And this week confirms this turning point. Congrats Blockchain.com !

Congrats to Blockchain.com team!

We recorded 7 fundraisings for European fintechs last week, for a total raised of 129.3m€. Blockchain.com, the special winner of the week, raised $120m from GV, Moore Strategic Ventures, Kyle Bass, Access Industries, Rovida Advisors, Lightspeed, Lakestar and Eldridge. Created in 2011 in London, this round turns Blockchain.com’s valuation to $3bn. This funding round is set to back an increasingly institutional-centric company, which already announces holding 65m wallets in more than 200 countries.

Geography- wise, 3 of the 7 deals happened in France. Quite unusual. Sweden accounts for 2 deals, the UK and Ireland count for 1 deal each.

Subsector-wise, 2 deals were in the Wealth Management, 2 in Payments and 2 in Banktech. There was also 1 deal in Insurtech.
