So you may have noticed a weird message in the middle of your Whatsapp conversations.

In their latest update Whatsapp have introduced end-to-end encryption. This basically means when you send a message it is scrambled as soon as it leaves your phone and then again when it arrives on the recipient’s device, not even Whatsapp themselves can see your messages. This protects your messages from being read if they are ever intercepted.

With the recent case of Syed Farook, the FBI and Apple, encryption is definitely the hot topic of the moment, but this move by Whatsapp is a massive one that, all in all, protects end users. Theresa May has been pushing the Snooper’s Charter a.k.a the Investigatory Powers Bill which will see apps that feature end-to-end encryption, like WhatsApp, banned in the UK, so enjoy this while it lasts.

Thunderbirds are go! — SpaceX lands reusable rocket.

SpaceX another birth child of the entrepreneur Elon Musk has successfully landed one of its rockets on a landing pad….wait for it….. In the middle of the ocean. SpaceX is one of the main contractors used by NASA to send resources out to space and the international space station.

This is a massive achievement for the California based company, landing a rocket in the middle of the ocean on a floating pad is a very difficult. The target is very small (compared to a traditional ground based landing) and is moving.

The more successful re-landings SpaceX can accomplish the closer the company can get to it’s target of having a fleet of reusable rockets. This could make space travel extremely affordable (in space travel terms) and save SpaceX billions of dollars.

Optimus Prime comes in the shape of a smartphone?

What sets this phone apart from your S7s and 6S’ is that it’s modular.

LG who have in past couple of years really cemented themselves a real challenger to Samsung's Android crown have just released their latest flagship, the G5.

The G5 sports a 5.3”, 1440 x 2560 display, a 16mp camera and 8mp front-facing camera and all the other bells and whistles we expect from a 2016 flagship. What sets this phone apart from your S7s and 6S’ is that it’s modular.

Modular? — As per usual, I have your back.

Basically the phone is upgradable to adapt to whatever situation (if the module is available). Do you want a dedicated shutter button on your phone when taking those holiday pics? Just add the cam plus module. What better audio? Add the Bang & Olufsen-branded Hi-Fi plus module for an improved audio experience.

In order for this to succeed though, LG really need to push their modules. There should really be a module for every possible situation and with Google still working on their Project Ara modular phone the future looks very bright and very customizable.
