Shameek is a man that has achieved a hell of a lot in short period of time.
He’s a Footballer, Coach, Researcher, Motivator and Father.
I and Shameek actually grew up in the same area but didn’t meet each other until Run Dem Crew came into our lives and we’ve been friends ever since.
Shameek is the Co-Founder of Coats and Goalposts. A grassroots football project that gives structured, professionally-coached football sessions to young people. It gives them a positive outlet to express themselves, try something new and meet new people. In a society where youth projects, schools and pretty much anything that can help young people has its services cut, Coats and Goalposts are essential for the growth and survival of those people growing up in our society.
He’s created it completely from the ground up and continues to show up each week, regardless of the weather because he understands the importance of presence in vulnerable peoples lives.
Shameek, you are my friend and brother, thank you for being a shining example of what a man should be for me and plenty other people.
