We pick up where we left off from in Episode 176 and talk about the possibilities that could result from getting the cabinet out into the wild later in this year.

For now, we’ll have to hunt down some of the test cabinets in the wild and see if we can get hands-on: they are not located where you might think.

Williams Pinball Volume 4 Announced!

It looks like Zen are also up to their now standard trick of reshuffling everything when they release a new version pack on Mobile platforms. Get a preview of what they’ve done on Android by listening to some of the feedback left on the Digital Pinball Fans forum. It’s… not that complimentary.

And now… on with the show

09:45 —Why is the MicroCab opened up?

Chris found that he was getting bad nudges, so he’s done something to the cabinet that should fix the problem.

14:00 — Zen’s Commercial Prototype Cabinet at E3

We didn’t have time to talk much about the flashy new cabinet that Zen is currently doing secret location testing on.

We’ll go through what we ran out of time for in the last episode, and think openly about the possibilities this cabinet could offer location-based play.

27:00 — Changes to the Williams Pinball mobile experience.

It looks like iOS users are getting a rather scary foretelling of what is in store for them with the Volume 4 update for Williams Pinball on iOS

It has been released on Android and is attracting a lot of critiques.

There are changes to the currency in the Android version that are really not ideal. Such as not offering the opportunity to purchase the tables outright. 😠

There is a new challenge that is implemented for focused parts, but you need to fork over your Zen Coins to get access to it.

There are a lot more unbalanced freemium levelling elements in this release that are really enraging pinball fans.

39:00 — Volume 4 Flipper Physics

Everyone seems to be loving the tuned physics that Deep has been working on for ages.

There’s been plenty of early physics feedback coming in, and some of the feedback is interesting.

What would this mean to the uptake of other older tables in Zen’s back catalogue by the new audience acquired through Williams Pinball?

48:00 — What’s the best way of getting in touch with Zen Studios?

Tip: it’s not email…
