Many of us on Medium and other platforms are passionate writers with varying degrees of commercial success, but we all have one thing in common: At times, we struggle with finding the motivation to write.

I had a simple change of mind that helped me being more productive with my writing. I summed it up in a nice little mantra that I tell myself several times each day. Maybe it does the same trick for you.

But before we get to that, let me tell you one very important thing:

It is okay to NOT want to write.

Yes, it’s our declared passion and maybe we’ve been pestering our environment far too long already, that we want to be, or that we are a professional writer or an author. Stop that. They hate it.

But, how dare you to not love what you (should) do at all times?

It’s okay.

Let’s not forget, that writing in itself is hard. Otherwise everyone would be a bestselling author. A lot of people try. Many fail. But you know what, most people don’t fail because their writing is horrible (yes okay, some do, and others even excel to stardom, but most fail because they lack consistency and perseverance.
