Preditor (Associate Producer/Editor)

Blaze Media is looking for a Preditor (Associate Producer/Editor) for the show AMericA with Eric Bolling. This team member will be responsible for providing support to the production staff prior to, during, and after the production of programs.

Expertise required in Adobe Premiere, where ideal candidate knows/uses hotkeys and can edit fast and efficiently. Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. Candidate must be extremely organized and detail-oriented with no sloppy timelines. Must be adaptable to house workflow and organizational methods. Ideal candidate must possess experience prepping projects for edit: sorting, organizing, and labeling footage. Familiarity with social media landscape and assets is a huge plus. Ability to take direction and work as part of a team. Knowledge of who’s who in politics and up to date on all the hot-button issues in the news cycle. Strong ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines with flexibility.

Must be comfortable prepping projects as raw footage comes in from the field, setting up projects, and organizing media. Proficient in managing media and hard drives, creating social media assets and/or stills (Instagram, Facebook, GIFS), project archiving, and editing full shows as needed.

Perform any production duties as assigned including:

Responsibilities

  • Support producers with the coordination, creation, scheduling, and distribution of all show projects
  • Researching, requesting, and QC’ing production elements for stories including B-roll, sound bites, still pictures, articles, social posts, and videos/images
  • Pitch stories
  • Research and fact-check information that will be going on-air
  • Working with producers to assist and coordinate host/guest schedules
  • Work closely with producers and editors to ensure all story elements are delivered (pictures/videos/graphics)
  • Screen, log, transcribe, and clip footage for projects; organize element reels
  • Coordinating with editor on the uploading of files and footage
  • Pulling music cues/sound effects from music library
  • Operate field camera, audio, or teleprompter
  • Edit video for daily segments
  • Organization of project work and media
  • Adobe Premiere editing and repackaging of a variety of content under direction of Producers and Editors, including performance clips, interview segments, social media posts, behind-the-scenes features
  • Packaging of content, including creation of text cards, graphics, logos, etc.
  • Formatting and packaging of content to meet technical specifications of various outlets and platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 1 year working experience preferred in broadcast news, video production, or related internship

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of news scheduling/rundown software (e.g., iNews) is a plus
  • Knowledge of production standards and equipment
  • Graphics experience helpful
  • Live experience very helpful
  • Good people and problem-solving skills
  • Strong political news and pop culture knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Capable of handling intense deadlines and multitasking
  • Excellent research skills; demonstrated creativity, responsibility, and organizational abilities a must
  • Organized, responsible, accurate, able to work well under pressure and without constant supervision
  • Team-oriented
  • Familiarity with processes and procedures of a television production department
  • Must have valid driver’s license with clean record
  • Applicant should be extremely dependable and prompt, with positive demeanor
  • Hours must be flexible to accommodate breaking news
  • Other hours may include weekends or holidays on occasion for special assignments
