Merger creates one of the nation’s largest independent media companies, with a monthly reach of over 165 million across traditional, digital, and social media platforms.

December 3, 2018 — CRTV and TheBlaze today announced the merger of CRTV and TheBlaze into the newly named Blaze Media, which will be a digital-first, multiplatform media company built on the foundation of bold discourse, big ideas, and free expression. The merger of CRTV and TheBlaze publishing, digital, and television distribution assets and audiences creates the largest independent, traditionally conservative multiplatform media company in the United States. The combined monthly multiplatform reach of Blaze Media will be over 165 million.

Blaze Media provides news, opinion, and entertainment — with varied perspectives across the spectrum of conservative thought –on the day’s most pressing issues and events. The formation of Blaze Media is in response to the marketplace’s clear need for a powerful, independent, media platform that honors the individual liberties protected by the Constitution, celebrates our uniquely American values, welcomes the debate of opposing views, and refuses to capitulate to angry mobs that seek to silence free speech. The company will be led by Tyler Cardon and Gaston Mooney, who will serve as Blaze Media co-presidents.

“Tens of millions of Americans have had it with the biased, ideologically-driven mainstream media outlets that sanctimoniously advance their own agendas under the guise of ‘news’ and ‘journalism,’” said Mark Levin, founder of LevinTV, the flagship program of CRTV. “Conservatives actually believe in a free press and the rest of the Constitution. This is why I started LevinTV, which grew into the CRTV digital network. In order to further expand and offer the public an alternative to liberal media group-think, I’m very excited about the merger of TheBlaze and CRTV. The timing is perfect.”

“The combination of the exceptional roster of TheBlaze and CRTV talent means Blaze Media will now be as broad and ideologically diverse as the audiences we serve,” said TheBlaze founder Glenn Beck. “Conservatives, libertarians, constitutionalists, and more have a home at Blaze Media. Our hosts will have differences, but we share a common belief in free expression, honest discourse and a society founded in the principles of the Bill of Rights. I’m beyond thrilled about this merger.”

BlazeTV, the subscription video on-demand platform of Blaze Media, brings together the creative, technology, and community assets of CRTV and TheBlaze. Effective immediately, CRTV subscribers and premium subscribers of TheBlaze will have access to the full on-demand library of both companies and 30 original shows, including LevinTV, hosted by Mark Levin, The Glenn Beck Program, hosted by Glenn Beck, Louder with Crowder hosted by Steven Crowder, America hosted by Eric Bolling and programming by dozens more notable personalities, such as Phil Robertson, Andrew Wilkow, Deneen Borelli, Steve Deace, Allie Stuckey, Pat Gray, Jon Miller, Sara Gonzales, and Andrew Heaton. Blaze Media will also be expanding its linear programming lineup in January of 2019, which will continue to reach subscribers of DISH, Verizon, and numerous other cable television affiliates.
