What does Christmas mean to you?

We all know what Christmas is on TV, radio and social media. But, what is it to YOU?

Is it hot chocolate and Bailey’s with your Mom, or a glass of wine with your best friend while you eat an overwhelming amount of short bread cookies? (That’s so me…and so much for Paleo this Christmas! HA HA)

Is it sitting in the dark on a snowy night with all your Christmas lights lit, watching your kids play on Christmas morning with the toy you thought they would like LEAST, or sharing stories with your family about past Christmases and laughing about how your drunk Uncle always told the same jokes! (That’s me too…in the dark! HA HA)

Perhaps you don’t really even like Christmas for one reason or another or just don’t celebrate it at all? Either way, the holidays have meaning no matter how you look at it.

So, does Christmas bring out the giver in you, or the Grinch?

Do you secretly love to do nice things but claim to truly hate it? (Pssst! I love it all :-) )

Do you maybe like to sing along to a Christmas song while working or walking to the bus? (Confession: I think I’ve warn out Melissa Etheridge’s Christmas album!)

Do you ever stop to think what YOU really want for Christmas and then realize that as you get older, what you really want can not be bought?

Things like more love, peace, compassion and kindness between lovers, friends and family members. And even simply the people you encounter daily at work and on the streets. Now those would be beautiful presents to unwrap! :-)

As you prepare for the holidays and for Christmas day, be conscious of what you are feeling and what you want and need this year for yourself and your loved ones.

You just may be surprised that what you discover you truly want can not be bought, but given to you — and from you — with nothing but…you guessed it…LOVE!
