This article part of a series of interviews with notable Travel Bloggers that share their stories & tips about the destinations we cover in our
free travel guide.

Fiona Maclean is a Londoner. šŸ‘©

Sheā€™s a professional marketer who gave birth to london-unattached.com as an exercise.

She loves travelling, eating (who doesnā€™t?) and writing. šŸ‘©ā€šŸ’»

On her blog she talks about London, where or what to eat, the main events and other stuff, if you want to go to the British capital thatā€™s what you need to read!!!

This is Fiona Maclean šŸ˜€

So, Fiona would you like to add something about you?

While Iā€™ve been based in London most of my adult life, I travelled with my parents as a kid.

By the time I was eight years old, Iā€™d been to ten different schools and lived in five countries. I love London as a base ā€” but I still travel a lot too.

In our imagination a Londoner is someone with an umbrella and a green jacket and with a strange sense of humour. I guess Iā€™m saying a banality šŸ˜€ so, who is the real Londoner?

London is one of the most cosmopolitan places in the World.

You can find everything to eat here, from excellent Japanese food to American fast food joints. Londoners love to try new things. But we do still need that umbrellaā€¦

We know you love food, what is your favourite London recipe?

I love most British cuisine ā€” Steak and Kidney pie is one of my favourites, sausage and mash, apple crumble or just a great roast beef.

Do you want a piece of apple crumble? šŸ¤¤

Are London recipes different from the rest of England?

Outside of the Capital we have a reasonably regional cuisine.

London is something of a hotchpotch though and even things like oysters, pie and mash and jellied eels are not really just ā€˜Londonā€™ recipes.

Some people say that fish and chips originated from the Jewish community in London, but thatā€™s not a sure thing either. And, we certainly donā€™t have that ā€˜village to villageā€™ regionality Iā€™ve found in parts of Italy.

We are Italian, and people say about us that we have the best cuisine in the world (have you ever heard that?! šŸ˜€ ), if you could steal something , what would you steal from our kitchen?

Iā€™d steal every white and black truffle I could find.

And, Iā€™d make Balsamico British ā€” itā€™s a lot nicer than our own malt vinegar!

What is the best satisfaction in living in London?

Variety ā€” we even have ā€˜regionalā€™ Italian restaurants!

You can try most things in London. And, itā€™s a great hub to get anywhere in the world.

Is there a myth about London that you want to debunk?

That Londoners are not friendly!

And that we canā€™t cook ā€” we can and do cook extremely well. But, our cuisine has had an international influence since Roman days!!!

So, perhaps it was the Italians who taught us to cook?

What do you think about Blink?

Itā€™s so easy to use!
I am looking forward to planning my next trip with it.

Thanks Fiona šŸ˜€ for the interview and for helping us build the best guide to London.
