SRM has had a wonderful journey of opening up the meanings and teachings of wide variety of Scriptures to the people. From Jainism’s Bhaktamar Stotra to Hinduism’s Ashtavakra Gita. For the basics, every Scripture taught that there were no “-isms” that were being talked about by those Scriptures themselves. And, since then the boundaries of religion has been ever expanding at SRM, and are on a way to merge with infinite Spirituality — the upliftment of Self! So, overcoming such boundaries came the time to explore the most read Scripture on the planet — The Bhagavad Gita. And since then, almost every definition changed…

As BEN Sri Ratna PRABHU started to interpret the Scripture the foremost thought She kept to everyone was that this Scripture is, unlike most other Texts, very complete in itself. It includes all the dimensions of life and Soul, journey and goal, seeker as well as God! Most people listening were already knowing (as they thought) a lot about the Gita. But there was a subtle belief that something else was going on in the mind of the Master.

And here it came…

Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, sung by Lord Krishna Himself, written by Lord Ved Vyas is a 700-verse Divine poem jeweled in the great epic of Mahabharata. One of the revolutionary aspect to this is that the Gita descended on earth not in any temple, nor any Ashram. Neither was the Guru sitting in Satsang, nor the seeker pleaded for his liberation. Neither it was a beautiful moment, nor were there hours of solidarity. Yes, the Gita was sung by Lord Krishna right in the middle of a battlefield! Just before the beginning of one of the most terrific war that would go on for 18 full days and would be fateful for millions of soldiers. Moreover, only a few could imagine the presence of any wise person during such destructive war. But, to the complete contrast, this war had the presence of Lord Krishna — the greatest of men, the God Himself and a long list of other such great and wise men. It was no ordinary war.

The great epic — Mahabharata, and the Bhagavad Gita, both were written by Lord Ved Vyas. He was the creator of 18 Puranas along with endless other Spiritual masterpieces. He was renowned as the supreme Saint of His time and each of His creation became a definition of Religion, rather, Religion itself! It helped endless people to attain liberation and still catalyses the journeys of people on this path. Here, BEN PRABHU explodes an unthought question — Can a Saint of such Spiritual height, innovator of endless Scriptures which are Supreme in themselves, a person whom His time knew as God can write a story just about a mere fight between two brothers (as depicted in Mahabharata)? Will such a man ever take interest in writing about a war of destruction?

The answer was, now, a straight and surprised “no!”

Then what did Lord Ved Vyas actually write about? What was the entire episode of Mahabharata all about? Our whole life we knew Mahabharata as a giant war and Bhagavad Gita as the orders of Lord Krishna to Arjuna to inspire him fight. Wasn’t it this way?!

The journey begins. . .
