Introducing Blits Wallet
What is Blits Wallet?
Blits Wallet is a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet focused on creating interoperability between Centralized Finance (CeFi) and Decentralized Finance (DeFi), as well as between blockchains. We believe the true potential of blockchain will be unlocked by making DeFi protocols and systems easy to use and understand, as well as by combining them with traditional financial services and products, in order to democratize finance. For this reason, Blits Wallet’s main objective is to make DeFi For Humans.
What problems does Blits Wallet solve?
Blits Wallet focuses on tackling two important problems that slow down adoption and access to liquidity in the blockchain ecosystem:
a) CeFi — DeFi Interoperability
Currently, the DeFi ecosystem is very technical and transitioning between CeFi and DeFi still has a considerable degree of friction that prevents decentralization forces from permeating into more areas of the economy, and benefiting the unbanked population of the world.
Our objective is to create a simple and seamless integration of CeFi and DeFi to create a free flow of liquidity between systems and protocols by taking the benefits of both worlds and mitigating their weaknesses. This way we can pave the road for the next phase of blockchain adoption and establish the pillars for the emergence of a Decentralized Economy (DeEco).
b) Cross-chain Interoperability
Due to the absence of trustless cross-blockchain interoperability solutions, liquidity and ecosystem growth has concentrated on Ethereum’s blockchain despite its current scaling limitations. In times of heavy transaction loads, Ethereum’s gas costs have increased considerably, making it costly and slow to interact with smart contracts when this happens; arguably limiting innovation, adoption and growth.
We believe blockchains should be open, neutral and borderless, so expanding DeFi to more blockchains, beyond Ethereum, through cross-chain non-custodial solutions, is an important step towards unifying the blockchain ecosystem and creating a free flow of liquidity.
Blits Wallet 1.0
Since the release on the testnet a few months ago, the Blits team has been working hard gathering user feedback from testers and expanding the functionality of the wallet to make the first release on mainnet as seamless as possible.
