Beat Today The Person You Were Yesterday
Napoleon Hill once said, whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve. Whenever we think something is possible, then, it is possible. But, when thinking of something as impossible, then, that is true to you.
One of the hardest things in life is changing how we act, feel & think in the present moment compared to yesterday. Why? One of the reasons is because we are conditioned to certain actions, feelings & thinking, and altering them makes it uncomfortable.
Once we established our goals and dreams, oftentimes we will encounter people having the same variation of our goals and dreams. These are the people you meet on your journey and doing the same things as you are doing. When we’ve identified these people we tend to compare with their progress. You will notice that some people are faster than you. Some people tend to be slower compared to your journey. There’s a lot of comparison with other people.
The mistake that we repeatedly do is to compare our progress with other people — whom we met. Why? I think part of our nature is to become better than the other. Survival instinct? We want to become the first to reach something. We want to become than the rest.

Don’t get me wrong. Becoming excellent at your craft is really a wonderful thing but comparing yourself to other people. Oh god, you’ll never be finished doing that. There are a lot of people having different “variants” of themselves. You literally cannot compare side by side the difference between you and the other. There are a lot of factors that can go.
So, comparing yourself with other people may just set you up for failure and unhappy life. Comparing yourself to other people is like you’re a shadow of that person. You will always be behind that person.
To continue improving and becoming a better individual, look in the mirror and beat that person’s old actions, old feelings & old thinking for the better.
May you reach your dreams.
