Emotions Come And Go
During our waking hours, emotions play a lot in how we function and also how we make decisions in our lives.
From the moment we wake up in the morning and feel good, we can already tell through that emotion that it is going to be a good morning.
We can start making “happy decisions”. But if we wake up in the morning and feel bad, we can already tell through that emotion that it is going to be a bad morning.
Emotions aren’t the answer.
Emotions aren’t the determining factor in whether a day would be good or bad.
Emotions are the product of the body at a certain moment in our waking hours.
I like to think of emotions as the way our body communicates to us. It is the form of communication in which our body sends a message.
When we feel scared, we can translate that to “I haven’t experienced this yet. It’s unknown to me. I want to protect myself”.
Emotions come and go. Like the wind outside, it comes and goes. Sometimes the wind is strong and we get outbalanced. Sometimes the wind is fairly cool and we enjoy it.
The more we understand that emotions come and go, we will be able to use that information to create better decisions.
Not every emotion that we feel is good or bad; They aren’t. Most of the time we just need to understand what’s happening. What is our body telling us?
Once we understand it or at least, create our understanding of it. How can we use that information to improve ourselves?
Emotional intelligence is the ability to take charge of our own emotions and use it to create the life we want. We don’t need to be carried away with it even though sometimes it is overwhelming.
What we are trying here is developing our emotional intelligence to be aware when these circumstances arise.
How can we better handle it?
Being still or calm is one of the ways we can handle it.
May you reach your dreams.
