Start Small And Move Small
--
I had a conversation with a CEO where we were talking about delivering quality products to consumers. Along the lines of our conversation, I asked him what he thinks about the quality vs the performance. I asked that because I’m curious how he expects to deliver quality products in a fast manner. Usually, quality products are delivered in a not-so-fast manner due to the small details you almost have to make it perfect.
He said to me that it’s not always one or another. You can potentially get both things but not always. Potentially. He then followed by “If I am going to ask between the two, I would choose quality”. He explained by saying “Instead of paying the price down the road; I’ll make it right and the benefits will be down the road”.
Why do I tell this story to you?
The reason is that most of the time we wanted to do things fast, do big things at once, and not think of the long term. Imagine the quality of work you can do if you will start small and do it on a day-to-day basis. The chances of you doing small today are far greater than doing big things today on what you are working on. In reality, you really won’t be able to work on big things every time. You cannot reach your goals and dreams overnight. You cannot develop the skill that you want after training for quite a while. It takes a consistent basis.
Instead of doing shortcuts, try what the CEO had shared with us, make it right and the benefits will be down the road. Do small right things. Start small. No need to hurry. No need to rush. You will be there. It is just a matter of time.
Just a matter of time.
May you reach your dreams.
