This week, we at Block Bastards have the pleasure to introduce you Ace of Space from In Pixel We Trust.

In PIxel We Trust is an indie game studio founded in 2014, with the purpose of developing Unity based arcade/retro games mainly for mobile platforms.

Ace of Space is a shoot’em up game with a ton of enemies, unlike their first game V8ORS which is an endless shoot’em up, Ace of Space has 6 levels each one of them with a gigantic boss at the end. Make sure to use all the tools at your disposal to beat them, especially “the Bomb”.

We had the pleasure to interview Filipe Gomes, one of the people behind In Pixel We Trust Games developers:

Filipe Gomes

What kind of game is Ace of Space?

Ace of Space was inspired in our first game V8ORS, so it is the same game genre, a “Shmup” (shoot’em up), but the environment is completely different, it has a sci-fi appeal to it. The major difference between V8ORS and Ace of Space, besides that it uses spaceships instead of planes, is that the game is level based with a Boss at the end of each level and a lot of different weapons to help you conquer every single level at your disposal.

Does the title of the game got inspired by the Motorhead song “Ace of spades”?

(Giggles) Yes, it’s true the title of the game was inspired by the Motorhead song “Ace of spades”. We really like the song and the wordplay worked perfectly. We could say that Ace of Space gameplay resembles a bit of the song in a way that both are energetic and give you a rush.

Why did you decide to integrate QUDO into your game?

We have been using Ads until now and the results were not as you would first expect. The profit we got from monetizing Ace of Space with traditional Ads was not worth, comparing with the way they impacted our users gameplay experience. The moment we found out that we could monetize Ace of Space without in-game Ads, by only adding QUDO SDK to our game we knew it was the way to go.

What kind of in-app purchases should we expect from Ace of Space?

Right now, we haven’t implemented any kind of in-app purchases yet, but we will certainly add it in the future. We are planning to add different spaceships, bonus levels and maybe… a secret level that can only be obtained with an in-app purchase.

Besides network rewards are you planning to offer achievements or highscores rewards for your players?

We haven’t discussed that part yet. Highscores made a lot of sense with V8ORS but with Ace of Space we believe that it isn’t that relevant. Perhaps we will add achievements for completing levels.

Besides V8ORS, can we expect more games in the future from In Pixel We Trust?

We hope so! After all, making games is our passion. Currently we are developing more features to V8ORS and Ace of Space. Maybe, after we launch both games with QUDO and the newest features we will start planning our next game, but it is too soon to know for sure.

In Pixel We Trust surely is bringing some exciting new games to QUDO and they really take the “Shmupgame genre to the next level. We can’t wait for Ace of Space to be available with QUDO.

What could be better than having a game where your users can accumulate QUDO coins while destroying a bunch of enemies and huge bosses?

We are still accepting more game developers to join us as founding partners until we launch QUDO on the Telos main net, during this summer. There is no need for previous blockchain knowledge or experience, you just need a game that could benefit from QUDO’s features.
