Here are some ideas for things to do this weekend.

Free Comic Book Day. Snag a free comic book from stores around the city. Staffers at Challengers will be dressed in cosplay for added excitement from 11 a.m. — 5 p.m. Saturday, 1845 N. Western Ave.

Cheer on the Horses. The first Saturday in May always means the Kentucky Derby. Consult RedEye for Derby watching events.

Eat at Halal Guys. It opens at 11 a.m. Saturday and will offer giveaways for the first 200 people in line, 1410 N. Milwaukee Ave. Read more on Eater.

Awake and Bake Festival. Snag pie, pie-inspired goodies and coffee at Chicago’s First Free Pie and Coffee Festival. Advance RSVP required here. From 12:30–3 p.m. Sunday at Chop Shop, 2033 W. North Ave.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Pop by High Noon Saloon for $5 tequila shots and Modelo drafts from 10 a.m- 3 a.m. Saturday/Sunday, 1560 N. Milwaukee Ave. For a more substantial affair, try Antique Taco + 5 Rabbit Cerveceria + Tequila Ocho. The $28/per person fiesta includes homemade chips, a taco bar one drink (margarita or beer) and a paleta cart for dessert. Seatings start at 3 p.m. Saturday, 1360 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Support a long-running Gallery. On Saturday Night, Heaven Gallery’s 18th Annual Latinx Nation fundraiser combines music, a silent art auction, dancing and food from Flash Taco. Tickets are $20 online or at the door. From 7 p.m.- midnight Saturday, 1550 N. Milwaukee Ave., 2nd Floor.

Get a Job. The new ‘small format’ Target opening in June near Division and Ashland aims to hire 75 workers at a weekend-long hiring event. Hours are 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Target in Old Town, 1200 N. Larabee St.

Display Polish Pride. The Polish Constitution Day Parade kicks off at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and traverses along Columbus Drive between Balbo and Monroe Streets.

The Art of Making Things. Schurz High School’s Chicago North Side Mini Maker Faire showcases the work of young scientists, inventors and artists. From 10–4 p.m. Saturday, 3401 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Brunch in West Town. Starting this Sunday, Spanish brasserie Bar Biscay opens its patio for brunch and executive chef Johnny Anderes unveils a new menu. Fun fact: crepes has its own section divided by fillings (“sucrée” and “salée”, or sweet and savory). Side dishes range from spinach and goat cheese empanada and fried fingerling potatoes to grilled chicken livers. Brunch hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, 1450 W. Chicago Ave.
