LITTLE VILLAGE — From tacos and tortas to elotes and gorditas, Little Village restaurants will be serving up a bevy of traditional Mexican favorites at Taste of Mexico this weekend.

The fourth annual fest highlights the best of Mexican culture with live music, arts and crafts, carnival rides and favorite Mexican dishes. Taste of Mexico kicks off at 3 p.m. Friday at 26th Street and California Avenue and runs until 10 p.m. Friday and from noon-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The outdoor fest highlights the Mexican restaurants that call Little Village home, said Jaimie Di Paolo, executive director of the Little Village Chamber of Commerce.

“We want people to come experience what Little Village is all about, and hopefully return to the neighborhood in the future and support our businesses,” he said.

Los Comales, La Cebollita and more than 25 other restaurants will serve up their signature South-of-the-Border cuisine during the weekend fest.

DJ Bombo Latino kicks off the live entertainment Friday at 3 p.m., and will share the stage with Efusivo, Love Secreto, Koncreto, Los Sementales de Nuevo Leon and more music acts through the weekend.

Carnival rides are $3.75 for children and $7.50 for adults. All day passes are $30 and all weekend passes are $50.

Proceeds from the three-day fest benefit the Little Village Chamber of Commerce.
