WEST LOOP — Green City Market is making its return to the West Loop this weekend.

The popular farmers market will be open from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays at Mary Bartleme Park, 115 S. Sangamon St., and run through October.

During Saturday’s kickoff, residents will have a chance to browse vendor stands selling produce and other goods, while enjoying opening day festivities, which include live music, a chef demo and free yoga.

Starting at 8 a.m., Barefoot Yoga will offer a free one-hour mediation and yoga class. From 8 a.m.-noon, children can sample locally grown foods at Club Sprouts’ The Kids’ Table.

And for those looking for some inspiration in the kitchen, executive chef Eric Mansavage of Farmhouse Chicago will offer a chef demonstration at 10:30 a.m.

Vendors at the West Loop location include: Abby’s for Good, Bennison’s Bakery, Bushel & Peck’s, Ellis Family Farms, Finn’s Ranch, Nichols Farm & Orchard, Soul Salsa, the Flower Garden, Red Barn Farm, Wholesome Harvest, and 1871 Dairy.

The West Loop farmers market moved to Mary Bartelme Park in 2016. It was previously staged in a lot at 211 S. Peoria St. in 2016 and at the corner of Fulton and Halsted streets in 2015.

Green City Markets are also setting up shop at Gallagher Way near Wrigley Field, and in Lincoln Park where the market has been hosted for 18 years.

You can find more information on the vendors here.
