Props to Neon District’s Instagram Marketing Lead, Alli Torres, for piecing together this creative collab-collage!

Age of Rust, Axie Infinity, CryptoWars & Decentraland collaborated with Neon District, contributing to the COG1347–1 Prize Pool

When a new Blockchain-based puzzle hits the Crypto Community, it’s usually the solvers that come together as a result. There’s just something addictive about the shared experience; subtly divulging bits of key information, learning what works, laughing about what doesn’t work and forever indulging in each other’s progress with shameless curiosity.

COG1347–1 has proven no exception to the uniting nature of puzzles. The delightful AI, now also active on Twitter, has not only brought together hundreds of puzzle enthusiasts, it has also inspired a collaborative effort between The Bot’s makers at Neon District and another four up-and-coming blockchain gaming projects. Age of Rust, Axie Infinity, CryptoWars, Decentraland and Neon District all contributed to COG’s prize pool, which was recently claimed when the puzzle was solved by a group from ARG Solving Station.

Lee Sparks, a Senior Game Producer on Overwatch at Blizzard Entertainment, was one of the COG1347–1 solvers. Lee put together an in-depth article on the astounding methods the group implemented to solve the puzzle:

The public address for the COG prize was initially tracked down and made known to the crypto puzzle community by @silver_anth. When asked how he found the prize pool address and why he decided to share the details, he replied, “got it from following ETH transactions from cloverme spacepirate’s wallet. He has funded some other puzzle addresses and he sent 0.5 ETH to this prize address. It had all the assets [YT] mentioned… I Figured it’d encourage people to solve more if they knew the prize.”

Once the public key was known and the private key was decrypted by the solvers, they were able to sweep the COG Wallet for the following prizes:

  • 1.0 ETH and 1 DEGEN Trophy donated by Neon District. Holding a DEGEN trophy entitles the owner to be a play-tester in Neon District’s closed alpha. Less than 25 are currently claimed. Only 75 will be available in total for alpha.
  • 0.5 ETH donated by Age of Rust. “Age of rust is a dark sci-fi adventure game set in the vast expanse of the universe. You’ll explore abandoned space stations, mysterious caverns, and ruins on far away worlds. On the way, you’ll unlock puzzles and secrets to light the way forward.”
A big shout out to Neon District’s Multiverse Partner, Age of Rust, for their contribution to COG1347–1.
Check out COG Contributor Axie Infinity’s Battle Teaser Video! Thanks for the kick-ass creatures, @Jihoz_Axie!
  • 2 Skins for CryptoWars, donated by Experimental. “CryptoWars is the first strategy game to fully run on smart contracts. Build your village, summon your army, protect your e11 tokens and attack your enemies to steal theirs.”
Cheers to Experimental for COG’s CryptoWars Skins!
  • 3000 MANA donated by Decentraland. This is enough MANA to buy 1/3 of a plot of land in “Decentraland, the first virtual decentralized platform owned and created by its users. Grab a VR headset or use your web browser and become completely immersed in a 3D, interactive world.”
See COG sponsor, Decentraland’s Video! A very big thanks to these guys for the MANA.

While many Blockchain companies are considered to be in direct competition with each other, projects in the Blockchain Gaming space are developing strategic relationships more akin to those seen in the crypto puzzles community. Sure there’s a chance of solo efforts paying off in the long run, but collaborative endeavors such as information sharing, prize donations and multiverse partnerships are seeing Blockchain Gaming projects like Neon District achieve increased exposure and accelerated development.

COG1347–1 stands as both a testament to the power of team work and as a benchmark for future collaborations in Blockchain Gaming.
