How to Backup and Restore Your BlockBank wallet

A backup of your BlockBank wallet ensures that your assets stay protected in case of a software or hardware failure. It may also help you retrieve your assets in case your device gets lost or stolen.

The BlockBank app comes with a simple feature that you can easily use to backup as well as restore your assets. Here’s how you can do it.

How to backup your wallet

1. Log into the BlockBank app.

2. Tap the “Gear” symbol on the top right of your screen (marked in red).

3. Tap on “Backup.”

4. Enter your pin (the one you use to log into the app). Tap on OK.

5. Set a password for your backup file. Tap on OK.

6. The wallet will be backed up. The app will let you know of the file name, which in this case is “aibbwallet_20210507_1034”. A copy of the file would also be emailed to your registered e-mail ID.

Note: Keep your backup file, password, and pin in a safe place. Do not disclose them to anyone. Anyone with such sensitive information can gain access to your wallet.

How to restore your wallet

1. Log into the app and tap the “Gear” symbol on the top right of your screen (marked in red).

2. Tap on “Restore.”

3. Locate the backup file on your device which in this case is “aibbwallet_20210507_1034” and tap on it.

Note: In case you have forgotten the location of the backup file on your device, remember, a copy of the file is sent to you previously on your registered mail. You can download it from there on your device.

4. Enter the password that you had previously set to back up your wallet.

5. Enter your pin. This is your login pin for the BlockBank app.

6. That’s it. Your restoration is successful. Log into the app again to gain access to your restored assets.
