Blockbird.data has come a long way since October 2018, when we both won the Portuguese Blockchain Alliance Innovation Challenge and were selected as one of the participant startups in the 3rd Edition of the 11 Health Market Program. In January 2019 we started developing the first proof-of-concept with St. Louis Hospital, in Lisbon. Later in March, we won a 30.000€ prize at the Bright Pixel’s contest “Insert Coin Live”. Soon after, we started working with a Canadian Consortium of Healthcare Institutions and just last month we were accepted into the MARS Ventures Start Program in Toronto, Canada.
With so much happening over the last 9 months it’s natural that our product has pivoted a couple times in search for the right product-market fit. After so many interactions with players from various industries, investors and other stakeholders, we finally have found our niche. So what is blockbird.data?
blockbird.data is a Privacy Analytics Platform for securing Applications against internal data breaches.
Think of Mixpanel for privacy (or sensitive data protection). We want to help businesses keep their customers trust by helping them understand how their users behave and use their products by tracking actions they take when accessing personal data.
Most security solutions focus on infiltration: how attackers are getting past security defenses and into the network. That part of the attack is more visible, compromising machines and triggering events and alarms in the security operations center. Until now, there has been very little information available on the less visible act of data exfiltration: how internal attackers are removing data. Whether you see it or not, data exfiltration is a real risk for most Organizations.
