To: Cryptocurrency users who do not know what’s going on

If you’ve ever interacted with the blockchain to send or receive cryptocurrency, or “tokens”, you’ll know that the experience is relatively technical and lacks the seemingly simple luxuries that we take for granted in the financial products that we use today.

One of those luxuries are the notifications you receive in your email inbox or push notifications on your mobile device when you send or receive money.

Payment to Chuck Norris for Nunchuck lessons and a get out of jail free card

Until now, the only way you’ll know when a transaction occurs is by sitting in front of your screen and incessantly mashing the refresh button on your wallet or Etherscan page every 5 minutes.

Trust me, I’ve been there.

This is not how most popular financial products work today, like Venmo or your common bank account.

Imagine sitting in front of your bank account balance and pushing refresh every 5 minutes to see when that direct deposit hits your account.

It would be as annoying as waiting for the cable guy between the hours of 8am and 4pm.

In addition, the blockchain is far more diverse in its transaction types than the financial products that we use today. The blockchain is opening new ways for people to interact with currency, securities, and financial instruments.

Ethereum’s Smart Contracts are paving the way for a multitude of new financial use cases, including:

  • ICO investments
  • Dividend payments
  • Mining distributions
  • Micro-transactions
  • Gambling winnings
  • Decentralized exchange orders
  • And so many more…

In all of these cases, transactions occur at random times —

While you’re walking your dog. Or taking a shower. Or out with friends.

Knowing that a transaction happened, when it happens, is the next frontier! (a little too enthusiastic? I think so, too!)

If most popular financial products can tell you when you get paid, why can’t the blockchain?

Butlers are the best

If you’re anything like me, you’ve always wanted to have a butler. Think about it — all of the coolest people have butlers.

Jeeves had all the answers.

Bruce Wayne’s Alfred helped to literally vanquish evil.

Tony Stark’s Jarvis is a super hero’s best friend.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air got the best advice from Geoffrey.

Butlers are the best.

After investing in over 40 ICOs and building a large crypto portfolio, there have been many times when I wish I had a butler to help me fight crime and unlock the mysteries of the universe.

Blockbutler is a crypto-(wo)man’s best friend. Always there to be helpful. And sometimes not (he’s moody and clumsy).

He officially went online December 31st, 2018, just in time to help us celebrate the new year.

If you’re using a hardware wallet, like Trezor or Ledger, or a local wallet, like MetaMask or MyEtherWallet / MyCrypto, Blockbutler is your perfect companion.

Add your wallet addresses and he’ll notify you every time he sees a transaction. He’ll also learn over time what’s important to you and start giving you more information about your transactions.

You can also add anyone else’s address and monitor for their transactions. Or a contract address. Or an exchange address.

You can get started with your first notification here: https://blockbutler.io
