Dear Mr. Roger Ver, welcome to Slovenia!
A partnership with Bitcoin.com led Eligma, a founding member of Blockchain Alliance Europe to invite a serial entrepreneur and a founder of Bitcoin Cash to Slovenia. The first-ever Blockchain Cash Meet Up that connected Slovenian crypto and blockchain community was held on 21 May.
Roger Ver who has recently been listed as the 6th most influential person in crypto by Crypto Weekly paid us a visit between 20–21 May. Besides going on a shopping spree by visiting more than 300 Elipay locations in Slovenia, Roger also used his stay to open the first Elipay location in Croatia with Dejan Roljič (Eligma CEO). The Bitcoin pioneer was impressed to experience in practice how the Elipay network in Slovenia allows an individual to shop and live with crypto only.
This hasn’t been Roger`s first visit to Slovenia however, he again emphasized the immense potential our country has by having successful companies such as Bitstamp, Eligma and others. In his interview, Roger also pointed out the problem of tribalism, a phenomenon occurring among the members of the crypto community who are sometimes fiercely promoting a project and therefore choose radical means of communication.
The Meet Up with Roger Ver was supported and co-organised by all the Slovenian organisations involved in blockchain and crypto space, that is by Blockchain Alliance Europe, represented by its president Tanja Bivic Plankar, who was also a moderator at the event, Blockchain Think Tank Slovenia and its president Peter Trček, Bitcoin association Slovenia led by Jure Pirc and Blockchain Association represented by their director Klemen Rupnik. They all led an interesting discussion with Roger Ver, with many questions also coming from the audience.
After the event, we can say one thing with certainty: Slovenia has one of the most devoted and also extremely educated communities which is why we are convinced our country will play a significant role in blockchain and crypto adoption in the future.
