GameChanger Ljubljana 2024: A Premier Technology Conference Driving Thought Leadership
GameChanger Ljubljana 2024 emerged as Slovenia’s second most-attended technology-focused conference, drawing significant interest with its diverse topics ranging from e-commerce and big data to fintech, Web3, and gaming. This year’s program offered attendees compelling insights and discussions led by industry pioneers.
One of the most anticipated sessions featured Dejan Roljič, BAE’s founder and CEO of NAKA, the first blockchain-based EMV-compatible payment ecosystem. NAKA is revolutionising financial services by promoting inclusion and autonomy through a user-friendly platform that seamlessly integrates vital financial tools. Dejan joined Blaž Brodnjak, CEO of the NLB Group and a proponent of traditional banking systems, to discuss the future of finance.
Their panel explored the comparative strengths and weaknesses of traditional banking and cryptocurrency systems. Key themes included the inherent stability of traditional finance versus blockchain’s potential for transparency and innovation. The speakers also addressed the risks and vulnerabilities in both ecosystems, stressing the importance of innovation and vigilance to protect users.
“As long as banks are open to embracing a collective vision and remain open to the transformative possibilities that decentralisation offers, they can harness innovation to build safer, more transparent, and inclusive financial systems, driving meaningful progress for the future.”, adds Dejan Roljič, founder and CEO of NAKA.
The discussion underscored the potential for a hybrid model, leveraging the stability of traditional systems with the transparency and efficiency of blockchain, to build a more secure and inclusive financial future.
In parallel, Lea Škrubej from Metabees and a BAE member delivered a forward-looking presentation on harnessing emerging technologies to enhance customer engagement. Speaking alongside Rok Hladnik of Flat Circle and Robert Sraka from Big Bang Slovenia, Lea spotlighted the transformative role of blockchain and immersive technologies in shaping brand-consumer relationships.
“Blockchain, combined with immersive technologies, empowers deeper consumer engagement by fostering active participation and co-creation with the brand,” Lea explained. “It enhances transparency and gives customers control over their data. By enabling consumers to own a stake in the brand, blockchain nurtures a stronger connection, paving the way for long-term loyalty and a shared journey.”
GameChanger Ljubljana 2024 reinforced its reputation as a critical platform for exploring innovative solutions and fostering dialogue at the intersection of technology and business.
