Midjourney V5 Has Launched
One of the most well-known AI art generators, Midjourney just made a major announcement this week. In support of a “far wider aesthetic variety and more responsive to prompting,” a more detailed set of photos and twice the image resolution compared to the previous version, Midjourney has released an Alpha version of the V5 algorithm.
Before reviewing the most recent revisions, let’s quickly recap what Midjourney is.
What is Midjourney?
Midjourney Version 5 or V5, is the latest iteration of Midjourney’s text-to-image algorithm. The chronology so far has been:
- Version 1: March 2022
- Version 2: April 2022
- Version 3: July 2022
- Version 4: November 2022
- Version 5: March 2023
There was a lengthier pause before Midjourney V4, but the initial versions and iterations were rather swift. The reasoning for the delay was that V4 significantly improved the realism, visual cohesiveness, and overall attractiveness, enabling users to produce more realistic artwork using straightforward text suggestions.
