Blockchain Brawlers BRAWL-O-SEUM Crafting and Upgrading Flow
With the highly anticipated launch of the BRAWL-O-SEUM, we want to inform you of some new changes you can expect to see surrounding utilization of landowner crafted cards. Plus, we’re going to clue you in on how you’ll be able to upgrade and craft different rarity Moves into higher levels for use when the PvP feature launches later this Fall.
If you have been here at WAX for a minute, you are probably familiar with how our blending system has worked historically. This product feature is frequently seen in many collections and games alike, because as gamers, we strive to progress towards better, more rare and more powerful assets.
But now, we have greatly improved how crafting and upgrading will work in conjunction with the BoS assets. Keep reading for more information on this — but first, let’s review how the BRAWL-O-SEUM will work for their owners.
BRAWL-O-SEUM Recap — How Crafting Works
As a quick reminder, there are three paths players can choose to take. Each crafting decision/path will be highly dependent on your play style and what your gaming goals are.
There are three paths tied to risk tolerance: Low, Medium and High.
The Low Risk option will have a 100% chance of crafting a Common pack every single time. When players craft a pack via this option, they will also get a small amount of experience points that will go towards leveling up their BoS. The higher XP level of the BoS, the better and more assets they could choose to craft.
The Medium Risk option will allow you to craft only Common packs, but the amount of experience points garnered will be a range of 1 to n. The higher the level of BRAWL-O-SEUM, the greater the range of XP players can receive per dice roll.
Every now and then, a roll will Crit and the player will receive 100% of the maximum experience points possible. There is also an additional chance for a very low XP bonus to be granted per roll.
But, here’s the twist — success is not always guaranteed like it is on the Low Risk option. The higher the level of the BRAWL-O-SEUM, the more likely this option will fail.
Don’t let this discourage you, failing isn’t bad! You see, players are bound by pack output on a rolling 24 hour basis. Diamond landowners can craft 25 packs a day, whereas Platinum landowners 10 packs a day. Once you hit your pack crafting limit, you are done until the window opens back up 24 hours later. It is then that all the progress that comes from leveling up a BRAWL-O-SEUM will stop until the daily window expires.
In order to help you on your way, you can even spend 100 BRWL to increase your chance of failing by 25 percent. When to switch lanes from Easy to Medium will be a hot topic of conversation amongst our community members.
The High Risk option is where the best packs are crafted. We are calling these items “Rarity Packs”. The packs themselves will contain every rarity possible, including Legendary cards.
Initially, at BRAWL-O-SEUM Level 25 (where this path unlocks), the Rarity Packs will contain a Common card 99% of the time and an Uncommon card 1% of the time. The higher the level of the BoS, the better the odds you’ll find rarer assets inside.
This may seem like the best option, but before you go crazy and risk it all, know that pack crafting success rates are only 10% and neither failure nor success grants any XP at all. Fear not — spending a little bit of Gold will greatly increase your chances of a successful Rarity Pack outcome.
The packs crafted from the High Risk option are the only ones that can be sold with customizable skins. You’ll have the option to choose from over 45 different pack skins (available to be bought in the BRWL MALL Store with BRWL and Gold) to help merchandize the content listed on the vIRL Market.
It’s important to note that not every Common pack crafted will contain an equal distribution of content. The pack type drop rates are as follows:
- Playing Card 50% chance
- Attack Move 27% chance
- Taunt Move 16% chance
- Finisher Move 7% chance
To play in the PvP mode, everyone will need Playing Cards numbered one (1) through eight (8), a Common Attack and at least one (1) Taunt and one (1) Finisher.
Upgrading & What to Expect
Now that we’re all caught up on the workings of the BRAWL-O-SEUM crafting, let’s talk cards and move upgrading.
We will employ a similar 3/4/6/9 path as used in previous blending experiences. But, this is where the similarities start and end.
Unlike past experiences where you could take a Common version of an asset and blend your way to a Legendary version of that card, this will be different and harder to get the exact assets you want.
The biggest difference here is that each Move or Deck Card is exclusive and locked into its own rarity classification, meaning that your specific Common Move/Card cannot ever become anything other than Common. When you combine the required number of Moves of the same rarity, you will get the next level up of the classification, but the exact move you upgrade to will be random.
By way of example, let’s say you wanted to obtain the “Flare Strut”, an Epic Taunt. To get an Uncommon Taunt is pretty easy as there is only one (1) Common Taunt, “Threat Down”. Collect and combine three (3) Threat Downs and you will be granted one (1) of two (2) Uncommon Taunts.
This means you could have six (6) Uncommon Taunts (three (3) of each) and not be able to upgrade your uncommon Taunt move to the next level since four (4) Uncommon cards of the same type are required.
Once you get four (4) of the exact same Taunt, you can then upgrade it to the next highest rarity. Since there are three (3) different Rare Taunts, you could accumulate as many 15 and still not have six (6) of any one Taunt specifically.
Once you get six (6) of the same rarity and choose to upgrade, you still need to get a little lucky since there are two (2) different Epic Taunts.
What does all of this really mean? If this was the same ol’ same ol’ to get a Flare Strut, you would need 72 Common cards and you would be good to go. But, in this system, you will need 315 Common cards in order to have a 50/50 shot at getting the Epic Taunt “Flare Strut” to drop.
So what is the bottom line? The reality is the demand for specific Moves and Cards is going to be much higher across the board. The Common cards that get crafted will be in demand on a consistent basis.
