The summer of 2020 is going to be huge for Blockchain Cuties Universe.

We are launching the game on the fifth platform!

And it is … Matic!

Why Matic?

Ever since blockchain technology appeared, many people wished for it to go mainstream and change the world for the better.

Ethereum was revolutionary and got the entire blockchain gaming industry started. We were thrilled to be among the first games, that use ETH smart contracts for in-game transactions.

Ethereum allowed us to give Cutieneers real ownership of their in-game assets as well as an open, transparent, and secure marketplace.

But there were challenges both for us and for the entire industry.

When there were too many people using Ethereum at the same time, every action took a lot of time, and transaction costs went up significantly. Unfortunately, cases when buying a Cutie includes substantial transaction costs and takes hours, are sometimes unavoidable on this chain.

It was also a challenge to onboard new players since the whole process required for them to have some blockchain knowledge. Many new players left Blockchain Cuties and other games, just because of getting frustrated over the complexity of blockchain wallets, transactions, and processes.

For us, it was really sad to sometimes see Cutieneers forced to wait, overpay and dance around gas prices. It also was one of the barriers for our and other blockchain games to develop and break into the mainstream.

Since Ethereum established itself as a go-to platform for games and other dapps, new blockchains tried to replicate its success and take over as the preferred gaming and dapp platform. And we always welcomed more variety and new opportunities by launching Blockchain Cuties Universe on multiple blockchains. We also invested a lot of time into making the gaming process as user-friendly as possible.

But as time went by, we saw that Ethereum and its challenges are here to stay.

So when we heard about Matic, we were thrilled to find out that the blockchain world might finally find an answer to Ethereum’s challenges, while keeping all the aspects people value in it.

Matic has found a solution to decrease both transaction costs and waiting times. All that, while not compromising any aspects of security and decentralization.
