The world’s largest legal hackathon will take place over six continents Feb 23–25, 2018
If you’re a lawyer, legal professional, educator, or anyone with a peripheral interest in the law, then you’re already well aware that there’s a growing global legal community comprising not only lawyers but also technologists, data scientists, entrepreneurs, and other industry experts — a community that transcends territory and purview.
As Forbes’ Mark Cohen explains it, this new global legal community is “forging a culture that is transparent, collaborative, diverse, cross-border, data-driven, problem solving, tech and process centric, diverse, inter-disciplinary, merit-centric, flat, pedigree-agnostic, and innovative.”
For self-evident reasons, this is a good thing — not only for lawyers and the legal industry, but also for any sector — public or private — that comes into contact with the law, which is to say, nearly all.
As a response to this growing need to collaborate, several organizations have partnered to bring the global legal innovation community together for the Global Legal Hackathon.
Taking place in various locations around the world over the course of a few days, the Global Legal Hackathon engages law schools, law firms and in-house departments, legal technology companies, governments, and service providers to the legal industry.
The global event will see the best thinkers, doers and practitioners in law work toward a unified vision: rapid development of solutions to improve the legal industry on a global scale.
While it is, of course, no small feat, a growing number of hosts in major cities are up for the challenge. So, what do you, say? Will you join us in this fast-growing legal innovation movement?
