BGA Paris Summit

The Recap: BGA: Paris Edition

With a room filled with industry professionals, avid players, and interested people, Blockchain Game Alliance kicked off NFT Paris with an official pre-event on 23 March, dedicated to web3 gaming.

Gathering the web3 gaming ecosystem during one afternoon, BGA: Paris Edition was the first of its kind, and saw an afternoon of panel discussions covering a range of topics and gathering a number of high level speakers to discuss and expand the knowledge of the related topics.

The BGA : Paris Edition hosted 7 web3 game related panels over 7 hours, with 30 amazing speakers, bringing forth some interesting and diverse panel discussions centred around a number of related themes such as infrastructure digital identity, environmental impact among others. We also had an all female panel on “a new digital identity for players’, giving the mic to just some of our female members with the web3 gaming sector to discuss and showcase their projects. BGA members are diverse and the BGA aims to represent all actors within our alliance and the blockchain gaming space.

As a first event following this format, we were delighted to see the turnout of people who committed their afternoon to sharing, learning and discussing web3 gaming and surrounding aspects. With over 100 attendees, both BGA members and external participants, we look forward to creating more valuable events that bring the community together, raise awareness and tackle a wealth of issues surrounding building games on the blockchain.

Yasmina CMO at Interverse said:
“Imagine having customers that continue to engage with you beyond your products. It will be a dream! This is exactly what BGA is doing with its members because they know that all small businesses are not created equal. The team goes beyond and above to make the best out for each and everyone of us.”

This is the pledge we make to members of the Alliance. Further to showcasing and a day of deep web3 discussions, the event was followed by a relaxed evening of networking, enabling participants to discuss and connect with each other in the fantastic setting of Pyratz Labs, a well-known start-up studio specializing in web3.

On the 24 March, NFT Paris opened its doors as we prepared to welcome the footfall of visitors to this vibrant event ful to the brim with creative technology, from art, to infrastructure to gaming. Queues wrapped around the Parisian blocks as over 15,000 people headed to Grand Palais to attend the NFT and web3 focused conference.

Part of our mission is to provide our members with exposure through on and offline events, and for the second year running, BGA was present, hosting a booth along with 4 of our member projects, enabling them to showcase their games. Joining us on the booth were some awesome projects:

Crown Chaser, a tower defense–style, real-time strategy metaverse game that will be available for Windows, Android, and iOS.

Neopolis, a virtual travel game that enables players to earn rewards by moving and exploring their city through a geolocalized game.

EverdreamSoft showcasing Wakweli, an infrastructure protocol focused on NFTs and tokenized assets.

Degen Royale, a social Multiplayer Shooter Game using your PFP as in-game avatar.

Aligned with the BGA’s aim to raise awareness and educate of blockchain technology, it gave us fantastic visibility and great expose to the projects who joined us, enabling us to leverage our identity, offer expose to our members and raising awareness and educating through showcasing games and giving attendees the ability to meet and chat with the teams who create them.

We received great feedback from visitors to the booth, both from industry related professionals, gamers and general attendees who are curious about having fun on the blockchain and the new experiences they can have. We also gained lots of social media exposure as people shared our activities which gave further visibility to our mission, as we pursue our goal to help people understand more the Blockchain game alliance and more exposure and awareness around blockchain gaming.

The booth attendees were delighted with their time showcasing their products:

“The BGA’s support was instrumental in helping us to showcase our products and services, and to make meaningful connections with other industry leaders and stakeholders. Through networking and collaboration, we were able to gain valuable feedback and insights, and to share our own unique expertise with others in the space.”
Antonio, CEO Crown Chaser

In a space which is projected into the Metaverse, at our core, we are an alliance and there is no better way to connect, share ideas and collaborate on future tech, than meeting the web3 ecosystem and all its actors in-person. We were excited to see interest from players, new game studios and other web3 projects showing interest in our activities and look forward to continuing to expand our network to new members as more and more people see the benefits of web3 for gaming. Both the Alliance and the projects who showcased with us made great connections and brought attention to awesome games on the blockchain. Attendees to the booth also received a POAP, of which 57 were minted, reminding people of their time with us.

Nick from Interverse, who joined us to showcase their game, Degen Royale said :

“Love that we could simply show up and focus on marketing/demoing our game without having to deal with booth organizing logistics! The booth was super busy, we spoke with lots of enthusiasts as well as quality key contacts.

The visibility together as a game alliance for sure helped bring in the right visitors, instead of just random ones, and the best part is the comradeship between the booth mates is great — BGA team & the 3 exhibiting member companies — we for sure got to know and help each other more during the 2 days, and will do so more going forward.”

This year, we will be present at several key conferences, you can check out our schedule here, and we look forward to meeting you there — Next stop: GDC San Francisco!
