State of Lightning: What’s the Path for Network Adoption in 2019?
Launched in beta last March, the layer-2 payments technology that enables faster, off-chain transactions is actively maintained and developed by over six different development teams. In the past 30 days alone, the number of lightning payment channels has increased by roughly 36 percent, bringing to total to roughly 22,000 channels. Active lightning nodes have similarly shot up — over 16 percent in recent days — and presently sit at around 5,690 distributed nodes.

MAS Halts Securities Token Offering for Regulatory Breach
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has warned an initial coin offering (ICO) issuer not to proceed with its securities token offering in Singapore until it can fully comply with regulatory requirements under the Securities and Futures Act (SFA). The issuer had intended to rely on an exemption from prospectus registration under the SFA, which is however subject to certain conditions, including a requirement not to advertise the offer. Samsung Galaxy S10 Could Expose Crypto to Millions of Tech Savvy Users
Among leaked images of the Galaxy S10 in the past week was evidence that Samsung could be ready to launch a crypto wallet to store cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, and a blockchain explorer service called Samsung Blockchain KeyStore. While the leaked images aren’t yet confirmation that the much-anticipated iPhone killer will indeed ship with the crypto wallet in tow, if it does, Samsung will be exposing crypto and blockchain to millions of its most tech-savvy smartphone users.
