I remember when I first started researching about Grid Singularity, and began to understand what blockchain technology could do for the power grid, it blew my mind. The energy space is a fascinating use case for blockchain and Grid Singularity is at the forefront of innovation and research in the space.

Tune in as we discuss:

  • How Grid Singularity built their team
  • The advantages and disadvantages of using blockchain technology in the energy space
  • How does a distributed model affect the big energy providers
  • How Grid Singularity is tackling the industry’s biggest challenges with the Energy Web Foundation
  • Practical words of advice for understanding what blockchain can do for your own industry

Grid Singularity is a technology company creating an open (permissioned) Internet-based decentralized energy data exchange platform built on the most advanced blockchain technology. This newly structured ecosystem, to be hosted by the Energy Web Foundation (EWF, see energyweb.org), provides a data transparency and integrity solution in a major shift away from a traditional, centralized model of the energy market.

Grid Singularity has been created by a team of experienced energy market and policy professionals, in partnership with leading blockchain technology developers at Parity Technologies, who are principal founders of the open source not-for-profit organization, Ethereum.

Ewald Hesse leads the Grid Singularity venture, rooted in his extensive experience in the energy sector and acute interest in distributed business models.
