Chain of Events

Bitcoin gains, crypto events and acquisitions

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we remain passionate as ever about building a more accessible crypto ecosystem, both in our products, our meeting rooms and everywhere in between.

Let’s dive into it!

ICYMI: Trailblazing Women, An Acquisition, and Unstoppable Domains

In honor of Women’s History Month, we celebrated the trailblazing women of crypto who continue to help lead Blockchain.com — Macrina Kgil, Lindsey Haswell, Maya Miller and Mimi Brady.

This month we welcomed the Altonomy team to Blockchain.com in our latest acquisition — an OTC trading and executions business based in Singapore. Altonomy is a leader in altcoin spot trading, the perfect complement to our core large cap crypto trading (think: Bitcoin and Ethereum).

And to close out March, we announced our expanded partnership with Unstoppable Domains. Now you can send crypto to all Unstoppable Domains. In addition to the original .crypto and .zil domains, you can send crypto to .x, .nft, .wallet, .coin, .bitcoin, .dai, and .888 using your Blockchain.com Wallet.

The Bottom Line

After steep losses in January and a leveling off in February, Bitcoin recovered in March ending with a 9% gain. It ended the month at $47K.

Other cryptocurrencies also celebrated gains in March, with Ether pushing 15% in the green.

Feature of the Month: Check Out Flow Featuring Stripe

Part of building an accessible financial future is creating a seamless onramp into crypto.

That’s why we partnered with Stripe, enabling Blockchain.com users to buy crypto with cards instantly and securely on both the Exchange and in the Wallet.

The Cryptosphere

Events in all parts of the world were top of mind for the crypto community this month.

The Blockchain.com team was live on the ground at ETH Rio and virtually at Blockchain Africa Conference 2022. As a global company, we’re passionate about meeting the needs of a global community. And meeting you in person at events all over the world is a small part of that.

In other event news, our friends over at Ava Labs hosted the first ever Avalanche Summit in Barcelona welcoming crypto enthusiasts from around the world.
