Marcie Vu joins Blockchain.com’s Board of Directors

Our team and independent Board of Directors have worked tirelessly to build governance systems, transparency and trust with our customers, regulators, and the ecosystem.

After a year of incredible growth, I’m excited to kick off 2022 by announcing that tech and finance veteran (and crypto enthusiast!) Marcie Vu is joining our board. With her addition, our talented set of CEOs, operators and investors has expanded to six board members.

A seasoned consumer technology leader, Marcie has helped some of the biggest consumer platforms and marketplaces reach scale and IPO. She’s been an operator on the product side, but has made a career leading M&A and IPO deals for brands like Alibaba, Amazon, eBay, Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Zappos, and many more. Her focus has always been to work with passionate, highly convicted founders who are committed to building for the long-term. From Yahoo to Morgan Stanley and Qatalyst Partners, Marcie has spent her career working with disruptive companies that are shaping entirely new industries, much like crypto. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors for resale clothing brand thredUP as well as games company Scopely, helping both scale.

I’ve spent a lot of time with Marcie over the past few months. It’s actually her passion and conviction for the future of the financial system that really showed me how much wisdom and insight she has to offer the business. We also discussed the striking similarities between crypto today and the consumer web growth she helped facilitate over the past 20 years. As we aim to hit 1 billion Blockchain.com Wallets worldwide by 2030, Marcie will add immeasurable value to me personally, and to the entire team.

Our business has outpaced the growth of the crypto market by 25% over the last four years. And after many years of building core products used by 37M verified users in over 200 countries worldwide, we’re positioned better than ever to expand crypto adoption in key growth markets.

The coming decade will be important not just for Blockchain.com, but for the entire crypto industry. With incredible entrepreneurs, builders, employees and engaged users flocking to the space, coupled with unprecedented venture investments and healthy dialogue with global regulators, it’s important that we continue to relentlessly ship products that people love.

Welcome Marcie, and can’t wait to work with you to build the future of finance.
