Since 2017 kicked off, we’ve released a number of key updates to our block explorer, bitcoin wallet, and developer platform. To keep you looped in, this post has the scoop on what we’ve been up to in the first quarter of the year.

  • We launched a new logo and look and feel on .info
  • We’ve added beginner-friendly resources to our site
  • We deployed an improved charts layout, including popular charts
  • We’ve added helpful wallet notifications
  • One form for API key requests

A new logo, and new look and feel

Signaling the next phase of growth for us, we announced our new logo in January. Its colors are inspired by our previous logo, and the simple, modern design more accurately illustrates our role as an industry leader for bitcoin and block chain technology. You’ll now see it on all our web and mobile properties, including our explorer, wallet, and social platforms.

To stay true to our vision, our entire platform followed in these footsteps with an updated look and feel.

Beginner-friendly resources on Blockchain.info

As part of our mission to make bitcoin more accessible, our latest update on Blockchain.info incorporates a beginner-friendly twist. Like before, users can still view the latest blocks mined, but we’ve also added links to resources about buying your first bitcoin, a transactions per day live ticker, and an interactive price chart. Scroll down to find even more product resources including our FAQ, Research, and Support Center (with resources and support in English & Russian).

An improved layout including popular stats

Our charts are the most trusted source for statistics about the bitcoin ecosystem (and they were definitely in need of some love from us). To make sure visitors can easily find the information they need, the new layout of https://blockchain.info/charts puts the latest statistics from our most popular charts in the spotlight. All charts are organized with the same categories you’re used to, but in a way that’s easier to navigate.

Helpful wallet notifications

One of the best ways to learn about bitcoin is hands-on experience. And wallet notifications, like our new pending transaction notifications, are one of the ways we’re helping to make it easier. If you’re waiting for a transaction to confirm, hover over to learn more about what affects confirmation time and how transactions work.

One form for API key requests

Our API suite allows developers to integrate bitcoin into their website or app. To make the API key request process simpler, we’ve merged the request process for our Receive Payments and Wallet API. Users can now requests keys for both using the same form.

What do you think about our updates so far for 2017? Is there something else we can do to make your user experience better than ever? Let us know!
